GMP News: Man arrested as part counterfeit prescription medication crackdown

A man has been arrested as part of a crackdown into the supply and distribution of illicit and counterfeit prescription medication across the region. Earlier this year in April, neighbourhood officers in Cheetham Hill carried out a raid at an address on Fulshaw Walk, Ardwick, where almost £40k in cash, suspected to be from the illegal supply of illicit prescription medication in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester, was seized. A number of lines of enquiry and a thorough investigation has been on-going since as part of Operation Cranium. Further searches have been continuously carried out at addresses across Cheetham Hill and an address in Fallowfield where approximately £8,500 worth of illicit Benzodiazepine drugs and class B drugs have been seized. Officers arrested a 25-year-old on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply, obstructing police and money laundering. He remains in custody at this time. Greater Manchester Police PCSOs praised

Two Greater Manchester Police PCSOs have been praised for going above and beyond. Their actions included checking on the welfare of a vulnerable man in Rochdale, taking him shopping and delivering a television and washing machine. PCSOs Colin Taylor and Paul Dawson were checking in on the man in the Firgrove area after a call from a concerned relative. Once inside his address, they realised the 68-year-old man was struggling to care for himself. PS Matthew Honey offered a great deal of praise: "They could see the man had no food in his fridge so they took him shopping during their lunch hour instead of taking a break. "They drove him to the shop, helped with the shopping and the trolley inside, and then drove him back to his address. "They have also passed on crucial details so that the correct agencies can help him going forward. "They have gone above and beyond the call of duty but that is nothing less than I would expect from my team. "Acts like this are...
