Rudy's

An obvious choice but its popular for a reason. Everyone loves pizza and their pizza is incredible.Take a look at this video which explores Rudy's Neapolitan Pizza in more detail.

Fish Hut

Looking for a spot of lunch? The Fish Hit does a great variety of classic chippy meals and also sells a cracking pizza. Competition for Rudy's?

Greggs

Granted it feels like there's thousands of them but who doesn't love the occasional Gregg's? They even do a decent vegan range. Channel Five looked at how Greggs conquered the British High Street. 

Wok to Work

Located on Deansgate, Wok to Work has becoming increasingly popular over the last few years for those looking for a decent lunch. On their website, it states: "Make your own Asian recipe and we cook it your way with the freshest ingredients."

Wolf Streetfood 

More pizza? Yes but Wolf also offers a great variety of pasta dishes and wraps. Well worth a visit. They say: "Uncompromisingly delicious and bursting with flavour, WOLF means exciting Italian street food created fresh, in-house, your way. We believe in healthy, tasty, hunger-banishing food, we believe that every mouthful counts, we believe that ingredients really matter."

This and That

Three curries and rice for a fiver? An absolute bargain and it has maintained its popularity over the years. This interesting video below takes a look at the history of This and That.

Habeesha

This Ethiopian restaurant offers something very different. For something unique and tasty, this is definitely worth a visit. One Twitter user said: "Just enjoyed another fabulous meal at #Habeesha Ethiopian restaurant in Manchester. Delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommend."

Arndale Food Market

The Arndale Food Market contains a great deal of belting food options to suit all tastes and appetites. Our personal favourite is Wing's but people also love Pancho's Burritos and Viet Shack.

News: Austria first EU nation to reimpose national lockdown

Austria returned to a Covid-19 lockdown on Monday morning. People in the country are not allowed to leave home except to go to work, shop for essentials and exercise. Thousands of people throughout the country took to the streets on Saturday to protest against the mesures measures.  Some people are blaming the government for not doing more to avert the latest coronavirus wave crashing into Europe. They are also imposing a sweeping vaccine mandate from 1 February. They join the Vatican as the only places in Europe with such a requirement. Several countries across Europe have reintroduced curbs. Some have started to ban unvaccinated people from venues including restaurants and bars. Not since the Covid vaccination was introduced has an EU country had to re-enter a nationwide lockdown. This decision destroys some of the earlier promises that tough virus restrictions would no longer happen. More reaction We spoke to a number of people about the latest lockdown measures via video call.
